Does the plate need to be seasoned before use?
No, since this is made of stainless steel, it does not need to be seasoned in the same way as cast iron. Wash it thoroughly with warm soapy water before first use, and you are ready to grill!
What is the easiest way to clean it?
While the plate is still hot on the grill, you can pour a little water on it (it will boil immediately) and scrape off food residue with a flat spatula. After it has cooled completely, it can be washed in the sink.
