Beech is the absolute king of smoking woods in Europe. It gives your food a beautiful, golden hue and a robust yet delicate smoke aroma that enhances the natural flavor of meat, poultry, fish, cheese, and vegetables. The fine coarseness (1-4 mm) is specially developed to ensure even feeding and stable smoke in automatic smoke generators like Borniak, Holmsmoker, and Dymbox. At the same time, it works just as wonderfully in a classic Abu smoker or in a smoker box over the grill.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the weight of the sack vary from 12.5 to 15 kg?
Wood is a living natural material that contains moisture. As the wood chips are stored in a dry and stable environment, the moisture will evaporate and the sack becomes lighter. The volume and amount of wood chips you receive, however, remains exactly the same, whether the sack weighs 13 or 15 kilos.
Do I need to soak the wood chips before use?
This depends entirely on your equipment. If you use automatic smoke generators (like Borniak, Holmsmoker, or Dymbox) or an Abu smoker, the chips should always be used dry so as not to clog the mechanism. If you are going to use it in a smoker box over a direct flame, some choose to soak the chips a bit first to delay combustion.
Can I use this in a maze for cold smoking?
No, 1-4 mm is generally too coarse for a standard maze smoker (ProQ and similar), and the ember will easily go out. For cold smoking in a maze, we recommend choosing Fumy Smoke Dust (0.1-1 mm).
