Information

Cone cheesecloth 36 x 32 x 45 cm: five cloths, one always clean

Anyone who makes cheese regularly finds out quickly that one cloth is not enough. It has to be washed right after use and dried before the next batch, and if you are mid make while the only cloth hangs wet, everything stops. This pack holds five cone shaped polyethylene cloths, so a clean dry one is always ready.

5 cloths per pack
Cone shape for even drainage
Conical holes release the cheese
Washable at 60 to 70 degrees

The shape is the same as the large cone cloth, just in a smaller format that fits most common cheese moulds and strainers. Polyethylene does not absorb moisture, dries quickly and takes a hot wash, which is exactly why the cloth can be reused again and again without turning sour.

Pro tip!
Mark the cloths along the edge with a pen and use them in rotation. Then you know which is oldest, and you notice when the weave has stretched and started letting fine curd through, before it costs you the yield on a whole batch.

Features

  • Five per pack: A clean, dry cloth is always ready, even mid make.
  • Cone shaped: Gathers the curd towards the bottom for even drainage.
  • Conical holes: Releases the curd easily without tearing the surface.
  • Polyethylene: Elastic plastic that does not hold moisture and dries fast.

How to use

  1. Wash the cloths before first use, 60 to 70 degrees.
  2. Place the cloth in the mould or strainer.
  3. Pour the curd into the cloth.
  4. Press or let the liquid drain according to the recipe.
  5. Wash the cloth right after use and hang it to dry.

FAQ Frequently asked questions

Why would I need five cloths?

Because a cloth has to be washed and dried between uses. If you make cheese often, or several cheeses in one day, you get through two or three quickly. The five pack means you never wait for a cloth to dry.

Do they fit standard cheese moulds?

Yes. The size suits common home cheese moulds and strainers. For larger volumes or taller moulds the 45 cm cone cloth is a better fit.

How should I wash them?

Rinse the worst off in cold water first, never hot, because hot water coagulates the milk proteins and sets them into the weave. Then wash at 60 to 70 degrees and hang to dry.

Can they be used for anything besides cheese?

Yes. They work well for straining yoghurt, draining ricotta, clarifying stock and pressing juice from berries.
