Collagen Casing 21mm (Edible)
This is an edible collagen casing of the "Natur SB" type, specially developed to provide the classic "snap" you expect from a good wiener sausage. With a diameter of 21 mm, this is the modern and user friendly alternative to narrow sheep casing. The casing is made of natural collagen protein from beef hide and is completely safe to eat. It is supplied shirred on a tube, making it incredibly fast to load onto the stuffing horn.

The advantage of collagen casing is the consistent quality. Unlike natural casing, this has no holes or weak points, and the diameter is a constant 21 mm all the way. This gives the sausages a highly professional and uniform appearance. The casing is "smokable", meaning it allows the delicious smoke flavor to penetrate during heat treatment, and it becomes delicately crisp after poaching or frying.
This casing is "Ready to Use" straight from the package. Do not soak it, as it may become slimy and lose strength. Thread the dry casing directly onto a thin stuffing horn (10-12mm fits best) and start filling.
