The grate is shaped like a half-moon and replaces one of the standard grates in the grill. This is brilliant for Primo's 2-zone system: You can have the cast iron grate on one side for intense searing of the steak over direct heat, while keeping the standard grate on the other side for indirect finishing. The bars are set close together, which also prevents smaller food items from falling into the coals.
Cast iron lasts forever with proper care. Wash it by hand with hot water (avoid soap if possible), dry it completely immediately, and coat it with a thin layer of cooking oil. This prevents rust and builds up a natural "non-stick" coating over time.

No, this is specifically sized for the smaller Junior 200 model. There are separate, larger grates available for Large and XL.
