If you use automatic smoke generators (like Borniak, Holmsmoker, or Dymbox) or an Abu smoker, the chips should always be used dry so as not to clog the mechanism. If you are going to use it in a smoker box over a direct flame, some choose to soak the chips a bit first to delay combustion.

    Can I use this in a maze for cold smoking?

    No, 1-4 mm is generally too coarse for a standard maze smoker (ProQ and similar), and the ember will easily go out. For cold smoking in a maze, we recommend choosing Fumy Smoke Dust (0.1-1 mm).
