Information

Browin Vertical Sausage Stuffer 3 kg: Homemade Sausages on Little Counter Space

You do not need a whole sausage kitchen to make your own sausages. This vertical sausage stuffer from Browin is built in stainless steel, takes 3 kg of meat in the cylinder and stands on a footprint no larger than a dinner plate. The reinforced piston with silicone gasket seals airtight against the cylinder wall and is vented to let air out of the meat, so the sausages fill evenly and without air bubbles.

3 kg capacity
Stainless steel
4 vented funnels: 14-25 mm
Small footprint on the bench

The four included funnels of 14, 18, 21 and 25 mm have their own cutouts that release air while the casing fills, a detail that gives tightly packed sausages without air pockets. That lets the stuffer cover everything from thin kabanos and snack sausages to grill sausages and thicker varieties, in both natural and artificial casings from 16 mm and up. The vertical design makes it quick to set up, easy to crank and just as easy to put away, perfect for the home kitchen bench.

Pro tip for even filling!
Coat the inside of the cylinder with a thin layer of neutral cooking oil before adding the meat. The piston then travels smoothly without jerks, you save effort on the crank, and the sausages fill at constant pressure from the first centimetre to the last.

Features

  • Compact powerhouse: 3 kg of meat per fill, enough for around 30 grill sausages, in a machine that takes minimal bench space.
  • Air-free result: A vented piston and funnels with cutouts let the air escape, so the sausages come out tight and even without air bubbles.
  • Stainless steel: Cylinder and body in stainless steel handle daily use and stay in shape for many seasons.
  • Four funnels included: 14, 18, 21 and 25 mm cover everything from kabanos to coarse sausages.

How to use

  1. Oil the cylinder lightly, choose the funnel to match the casing and fit it.
  2. Fill the cylinder with cold meat and pack it down firmly without air pockets.
  3. Thread the casing onto the funnel and crank until the meat reaches the funnel tip.
  4. Fill the casing at a steady pace, and refill the cylinder until the whole batch is in casings.

FAQ Frequently asked questions

How many sausages does one fill make?

The cylinder takes 3 kg of meat, which gives roughly 30 grill sausages of 100 grams. For a typical family batch that means one or two fills, and refilling only takes a moment.

Which casings and funnels go together?

Choose a funnel slightly narrower than the casing: 14 mm for kabanos and snack sausages, 18 and 21 mm for grill sausages and wieners in sheep casing, 25 mm for thicker sausages in hog casing. The stuffer handles natural and artificial casings from 16 mm and up.

Should I choose a vertical or horizontal sausage stuffer?

Vertical is the first choice when bench space is limited: it stands on a small footprint and is quick to set up. For large batches a horizontal stuffer with a bigger cylinder is worth considering, at Foodstuff you will find the 7 litre Tre Spade among others.

How do I maintain the stuffer?

Remove the cylinder, piston and funnels and wash them by hand in hot soapy water, then dry well. Oil the cylinder with a little neutral cooking oil before each use, it keeps the piston running smoothly and extends the life of the machine.
