Information
Best Charcoal Quebracho (10 kg)
Quebracho comes from the Spanish "quiebra hacha", which means "axe breaker". This name is no exaggeration. This charcoal from Paraguay is made from the legendary Quebracho tree ("White Oak"), which is 40% harder than most other woods. For you, this means a burn time and energy efficiency that is in a class of its own. This is the preferred charcoal for professional steakhouses and serious pitmasters worldwide.

✔ White Ash
|
When Quebracho burns, a characteristic layer of white ash forms on the outside of the coal, while the core glows intensely red. It provides a very high and stable heat that is ideal for searing meat, but its extreme density also makes it perfect for the longest "Low & Slow" sessions. The flavor is mild, elegant, and classic – exactly how you expect grilled food to taste at a first-class restaurant.
Due to its extreme hardness, Quebracho takes a little longer to light than regular charcoal. Feel free to spend 15-20 minutes on ignition to ensure the core is hot. Once it's going, you have a heat source that lasts almost forever.

FAQ
Why is it called White Oak?
Quebracho Blanco (White Quebracho) is the name of the tree. It has nothing to do with the color of the charcoal itself before it burns, but it leaves a characteristic white ash.
Is it better than Marabu?
They are both top-tier. Quebracho is even denser and heavier than Marabu, and has a slightly different, more classic grill scent. Many believe Quebracho burns even a bit longer.
